FlowSheet DIFF quick-start
Hint: Look for subtle formula differences in cells O11, Y18, and Y29
FlowSheet DIFF takes two spreadsheets--the "base" and the "update"--and compares/contrasts them. There are four windows involved
The FlowSheet for the "update" spreadsheet
The FlowSheet for the "base" spreadsheet
The Value-diff window, on which circles and stars show the cell-by-cell numerical differences (update-base).
The Control Panel window, which lets you choose how to display the flowlines in the other three windows, and what to display in the panels below.
There are a few extra symbols:
The size of a circle represents the magnitude of a postive number; the size of a star represents the magnitude of a negative number.
A red "X" shows where a formula is different between the two sheets.
The Control Panel can list all of the cells with different formulae.
The multiple sheets interact as simply as possible:
Clicking on a cell on any grid "opens" or closes the cells on all grids together.
Scrolling any one grid scrolls all the grids together.
You can choose to list all the cell-by-cell formula differences (instead of displaying a cell's disentangled formula)
Pressing the space-bar cycles between the three grids, bringing each to the front... so, for example, you can superimpose large grids and see each in turn.
